Acadian Festival Madore Shuffle
As part of the annual Acadian Festival and the Town of Madawaska’s sesquicentennial, Four Seasons Trail Association hosted the Madore Shuffle to the delight of many onlookers and shuffle fans. This year three, all women’s, teams competed for the top position. Returning to defend their 2018 title, Jazzercize, opened the qualifying round with a time of 00:01:42, followed by new comers, The Old Timers, with a time of 00:02:25. The final qualifying time of 1:38 time was recorded by another new team the 19th Ave. Gang. Fans were treated to an amazing head-to-head final between the top two teams. At the mid-way point Jazzercize held a slight advantage but a quick transition by the 19th Ave ladies put them into the lead heading back to the finish line. The defending champs would not go down lightly as they mounted a powerful surge midway through the return to pose a serious threat to the rookies, however, just as they were pulling even, a slip occurred which pulled them out of contention. The 19th Ave winners were comprised of Tina Roy, Gina Jandreau, Isabelle Jandreau, Brianne Thibeault and Jenna Dugal. Aaron Thibeault coached them to their first Madore Shuffle Championship. Jazzercize was comprised of Amy Carter, Jan Lee, Sam Morneault, Robin Doucette and Stacie Paradis. Sonia Tardif returned to coach the all-star cast for this year. Also worth mentioning was the energetic Old Timers team consisting of Deb Madore, Bev Madore, Renae Madore, Lee St. Onge, Anne Ouellette and Tina Ouellette. The winners were treated to Four Seasons t-shirts. Hopefully all teams will be back next year to battle it out for the win! See all photos here.
