Grooming Update

Last week (after making over $700 of preseason repairs to our 2003 Skandic wide-track snowmobile) we unfortunately blew the crank bearing and both pistons requiring over $1,700 of repair. The FSTA board decided to purchase a more capable unit to haul our 84" Ginzu drag. Pictured (with the blue 04 Sherpa) is the new unit, a 2018 Ski-Doo Skandic Super-Wide Track, 900 ACE. The unit is a four stroke model with 90 hp and a larger, 24" track. It has amazing torque, is super quiet and does not need 2 stroke oil.

In order to fund this purchase the board voted to pull $6,500 from our fund reserve and borrow the balance, $6,000. This makes for a monthly payment which we would like to pay down as quickly as possible. A club member has generously donated $1,000 to help off-set the loan. Please contact John Ezzy (email jezzy093@gmail.com) or Colin Jandreau (email jandreau@roadrunner.com) if you can contribute to this cause or if you are aware of any funding sources that could help pay off this necessary expense. You may also mail your contribution to: Four Seasons Groomer Fund, P.O. Box 313, Madawaska, Maine 04756 or drop it off in the membership box at the lodge.

In order to save the wiring costs for preparing the drag for use, Alec Thibeault and Cole Jandreau once again stepped up to set-up the switches, wiring and LED work light for the drag. We estimate this saved the club close to $400. Thank you gentlemen!!

We are looking forward to amazing trails with the help of this new machine!!
