As I look back at the last quarter of 2009, we had some of the most successful events of the year. Our fall festival with the help of Madeline Levesque was exceptional. We had a huge crowd at the lodge with the Babins’, John and Ann offering horse-drawn wagon rides all afternoon. Folks of all ages really enjoy their wagon rides and came from a large area to enjoy this event. We had great food and music. Thank you to the Rec. Department for helping out with the cost of the wagon rides.

The next major event was the Christmas at the Lodge and again with the help of the Rec. Department we brought the Babins’ back for sleigh rides and this year Amy Dionne brought a team of dogs and she offered rides all afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Santa were at the lodge accepting the kids' wish lists, giving out holiday stockings, and singing Christmas carols.  Mr. Dayton Cannan and company sang Christmas songs, and brought tears to many that were there.  It was a scene out of a CURRIER AND IVES painting. The lodge was full all afternoon.  We estimated over 600 individuals came through that day. Many thanks to all of the volunteers.

Another noteworthy event was the tunnel that Yvon and Colin brought to the lodge.  It takes determination and follow through, to complete such a task  - great job both of you and the helpers that accomplished this endeavor.

Now that we have snow Gil Roy and company are out grooming on a regular basis, the trails look wonderful -thanks again Gil "keep up the great work". Ray Beaulieu has been working improving the kids’ slide, adding banks on the sides and lights for evening events, nice touch, thanks again.  Ray has also built frames for our signs out in the trails.  I think they look great.  We also built 500ft of fencing which Yvon spearheaded, with Mark Dionne in the picture and Colin Jandreau and all of the helpers. It took us 3 days to accomplish this endeavor great job everyone.

Dawn Bragdon is working hard at purchasing and renting skis, I've seen her there for hours and hours organizing and then being there to rent the equipment. On top of all that she has a ski program every Saturday afternoon. With a family and a job you are truly dedicated to FOUR SEASONS.  If anyone has some time to help Dawn, please let me or Dawn know. She could use a break now and then.

John Ezzy has taken on the job of organizing our big race in March, the SUPER TOUR as we know it.  This is a huge event and he along with all of the volunteers are putting in countless hours toward its success. John with you at the helm I'm sure this event will run smoothly

Jackie Soucy and Babe Leonard will keep an eye out for the lodge and the kitchen this winter.  You can find them there most every day, Thanks both of you.

Closing out the year 2009 I have mentioned a handful of volunteers but there are so many more that make the Four Season Trails Association and lodge the success that it is.  It may be working the trails or grounds, cooking or cleaning, donating food, locking doors at night, decorating with the changing seasons, or just introducing the next new individual to this jewel that we are so blessed to have in our back yard.  It is each and every one of you that makes the Four Seasons Trails Association what it is.  Without you it is a building and some land.  The volunteers give it life!

Many thanks to all, see you in the trails!
