Interestingly, talk around the lodge is about the low snow fall totals and high temperatures for this time of the year. It is true that we do not have snow like in the past, but weather data from Environment Canada’s Edmundston (our sister city) weather station should calm our fears about losing all of our snow. Their records indicate the following snow totals on the ground for March 31 over the last five years; 2005 - 26.7”, 2006 - 15.7”, 2007 - 14.1”, 2008 - 38.1”, and last year we had 20.8” - these units are in inches converted from their records which are in centimeters . The current packed base on the trail at the Bird Feeder Loop and at the Flag loop is still 14”, although that amount is about a foot below normal for this time of year. If the temperatures cool down a little we should have plenty of snow until late March. Check out the weather data for yourself at:
